FCA journalists are invited to join a special media visit to the Semakau Landfill organized by NEA
Semakau Landfill is an intriguing concept as it provides an innovative solution to Singapore's waste management problem, it is also home to a vibrant ecosystem and indigenous species. Stunning images of the natural flora and fauna (both aquatic as well as terrestrial) have been beautifully captured in the soon-to-be-released "Habitats in Harmony - The Story of Semakau Landfill", a 10th Anniversary commemorative book of Semakau Landfill. The launch of this commemorative book is slated to be on 8 August 2009.
Also, to give you a better understanding of Singapore's comprehensive waste management process, NEA has put together a tour to the Tuas South Incineration Plant (Singapore's largest) and Tuas Marine Transfer Station. These visits will take place on the same day after the visit to Semakau Landfill.
The information shared will be embargoed till 8 August 2009
Please RSVP to Louann Wong (louann@bang.com.sg) by Thursday, 23 July 2009, 5.00 p.m.
