WEE KIM WEE DISTINGUISHED JOURNALIST LECTURE 2010
Goenawan Mohamad
Journalism in an Age of Intolerance
Intolerance is one of the most powerful political forces in Asia and the world. An increasingly integrated world confronts people with difference on a daily basis. Although encounters with difference are opportunities for learning, creativity and growth, they can also be met with intolerance - sometimes spontaneous, often actively provoked by political interests. What can journalism do to help build a culture of tolerance?
