United States Ambassador Kirk Wagar will address members of the Press Club and guests on US policy in Asia. This is Ambassador Wagar’s first policy address in Singapore. It will touch on bilateral Singapore-US relations, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the importance of ASEAN to US foreign relations, and the US military posture for Asia. After a 20-minute address, Mr Wagar will take questions from the audience.

Mr Wagar was sworn in as the United States Ambassador to Singapore on September 4, 2013. Prior to his diplomatic post, he was Managing Partner of Wagar Law, a Miami-based law firm that has represented individuals and small businesses in insurance disability disputes since he founded the firm in 1998 following Hurricane Andrew.

Mr Wagar was also an active Democratic Party worker in the election campaign of President Barrack Obama. Since 2002, he has been a member on the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice and a member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Justice Association.
