FCA members are invited to attend an event featuring presentations and a panel discussion around the theme of the geography of innovation. The discussion will explore how the geography of innovation has evolved over the past few decades against the background of a changing economic landscape and newly emerging technology.

Where exactly is innovation taking place? Relying on millions of patent and scientific publication records, the World Intellectual Property Report 2019 finds that innovation is increasingly global and intertwined. Asian countries are responsible for more and more scientific research and inventions, which were once the almost exclusive domain of a handful of rich economies. At the same time, a limited set of innovation hotspots lead the way and are at the center of global innovation networks.
