FCA journalists are invited to an exclusive tour of the premises of Singapore Precious Metals Exchange (SGPMX), the world’s first precious metals exchange that is 100% backed by physical bullion, situated within Le Freeport at Changi North Crescent.

Gold has long been the object of investor and consumer attention - whether it concerned bars in vaults or ornamental jewellery for personal use, gold has withstood the test of time. However, gold investment has been long perceived as an exclusive club for the well minted, with a high barrier for entry. SGPMX is an entity that looks to challenge this status quo.

One can think of SGPMX as an SGX for precious metals with a catch: you can actually hold your gold at any time, have it securely stored on site and transported on the next flight out just a stone's throw away at Changi Airport.

The tour guide will be the CEO of SGPMX, Victor Foo, who will be able to bring you around the facility and show you the entire end-to-end process of how one would buy, store and move gold in a secure manner. Victor will also speak on the following:

.    Debunking myths surrounding gold investment;
.    The stringent layers of government compliance that regulates investment security at SGPMX;
.    How Le Freeport is the "sealed duty-free bag" for all commodities that pass through it - gold included;
.    How SGPMX is democratizing gold investment and making it accessible for all.

Due to safe distancing rules, spots are limited for this tour. There will be two tours on 15 Sep 2020, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each tour will consist of 5 people – Victor, one chaperone, and three journalists. Strict social distancing will be adhered to through the tour.
