FCA members are invited to join the Wall Street Journal for an after-work running event for Evan Gershkovich.
Evan Gershkovich is a Wall Street Journal reporter who is being wrongfully held in Russia simply for doing his job as a journalist. Later this month, he will have spent an entire year in Moscow's notorious Lefortovo prison.
To mark this anniversary, a run is being organized on Wednesday March 27 to run (and walk) in more than 12 cities around the world including NY, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney to show solidarity with Evan and his family and support for a free press.
Whether you're a friend, a fellow reporter, or anyone who wants to see Evan freed — join this event to show your support.
The run will start at Chimi's (NTUC Centre at Marina Boulevard) and continue on a 3.2km route around the Marina Bay promontory area. More ambitious runners can keep going to the Marina Barrage and loop back for a 5.6km run.
Tracking: If you're on Strava or want to be, sign up for the run at this link and track your run. The overall Run for Evan has already clocked more than 40,000 miles. Your contributions will be appreciated!
The WSJ has been running all year for Evan and has logged more than 40,000 miles so far. Let’s not stop until he's free.
